Our girls here at Maid Right carry a magic eraser into every home we service. They have it available for every situation where the going may get tough. You see, the use of these little beauties is one of the most effect methods available to get out tough, deeply embedded stains and dirt. Areas like the bottom of the tub, around burners on a stove, even stains and dirt found on on vehicles and boats. That's right, even on vehicles (I have first hand and quit impressive knowledge of the use of the magic eraser on my cars, my boat, and my jet ski's). They will remove tar, acid ran marks, rub marks, bug deposits, even hard water spots. Being this effective on these stubborn and hard to remove items, imagine how effective they will be in your home.
The trick to using a magic eraser is to use quick short strokes over the area to be cleaned. Use a mild cleanser for lubrication to start and escalate to an aggressive heavy duty cleaner only if necessary. You need to use moderate pressure. Also, keep rotating the sponge so that you are constantly putting a fresh surface against the area to be cleaned. Most embedded dirt will come out in just a few strokes. Really bad areas may require multiple efforts to remove the stain.
Almost 99% of deep down dirt and stains can be removed with a magic eraser. It beats any other sponge on the market hands down. They last about 2 or 3 cleanings before needing to be replaced and if you buy the generic ones (they work just as good), they should run about $1.00 per piece. That is an extremely fair price considering the amount of time they will save you on your next heavy duty cleaning task.
